Why Pain Is Necessary

I don't like pain and suffering. I have sought the Lord many times regarding physical suffering. 40 years of pastoral ministry brought with it many opportunities to be tested and tried. Conflict resolution, discord in the church, runaway leaders, sin, the pressure of growing in faith and faithfulness seem to be God's purpose for my character development.
