#GistPrompt: Waiting for Sufjan

It was winter of 2007, February I think, and I became aware that Sufjan Stevens was giving away free tickets at the Kennedy Center. So the night before the tickets became available, I and many fellow classmates drove into Washington DC. We packed sleeping bags, hats, coats, mittens, snacks, and we found a spot outside the Kennedy Center among something like 2,000 other people also waiting in line for free Sufjan tickets.
